I have now run out of ideas of what to check, what to set, or what value to change. I have tried this as user 'pi' and also with a 'username', and I get the same results (ie, an error message). I have seen suggestions that I should run 'sudo amixer cset numid=3 1' - done that, no difference. I have seen suggestions that I should try 'sudo modprobe' - I have done that and snd_bcm2835 is correctly listed. I have seen numerous suggestions (relating to sound/audio problems) about changing the config.txt to say "hdmi_drive=2" - I have that set already, however, my 'no audio device' problem happens whether I have hdmi-drive=2 or not. So, what am I missing?, what setting have I not set? If I run the same program from the command-line I get an error message saying: How To Enable Developer Mode In Renpy Games How To Open Renpy Console How To Enable Console In Renpy Games How To Add Main Menu Music in Renpy How To Add Custom Renpy Audio Channels Categories. running any Python programs (within IDLE) that require various sound gives an error message:įile "/usr/lib/python2.7/audiodev.py", line 232 in Audiodev The only ones that I am having problems with are the few that involve sounds. They are all fairly simple and straightforward, and quite easy to see how/why the work. I have entered some Python programs from the 'In Easy Steps' book, and after a fair amount of faffing around I managed to get various sound files (.wavs) and images/pictures (.gifs/.jpgs) from the books web-site. wav file is louder/quieter depending upon what I did in 'alsamixer'. When I run 'alsamixer' I can adjust the volume level, and when I run 'aplay' again the. I can also hear white-noise when I run 'speaker-test'. Therefore, I know the speakers are working they also work on my mp3 player. There *is* some audio coming out of the speakers when I run the 'aplay' command with a. Problem: I can't get any audio out of the speakers when I run any Python programs. The speakers *do* work perfectly well - I've used them on other devices, and I can get some sound out of them from my RPi. I'm using Raspbian from earlier this year (from January, or was it March?). My setup: 256MB Rpi connected to a computer monitor via a HDMI/VGA converter I have a simple speaker system (two small-ish speakers) connected to the 3.5mm stereo jack on the side of the RPi. Right-click on your audio device listed in the menu and choose the Uninstall device option. Expand the Sound, video and game controllers menu by clicking on the arrow next to it. This entire Pi setup is getting very close to becoming landfill, because I can't find a simple way to do something simple. Press the Windows + X keys on your keyboard and click on the Device Manager option from the menu. This message/error has been driving me completely batty for the past few weeks, and several times I have had to force myself to switch everything off and leave it for a day or so, in case I suddenly throw the whole thing through the nearest window. (I get this same message whether I'm running a Python program from within IDLE (Python 2.7 within Startx) or run a Python program from the command-line.) I am receiving an error message about 'no audio device' when I use my Pi, and I'm hoping that somebody can guide me. If your No Sound issue doesn't match the problem as described above, please search again in the eSupport site using different search terms to find another guide.(originally posted this in the 'Troubleshooting' section of this Forum, but I suspect that it's more related to Python) I've linked to the most recent contact information on the button below. If this doesn't resolve your sound issue, then please contact your local technical support. So I'm making this VN with the help of my buddies and one of them is making the soundtrack (I'm pretty sure he makes it with garageband). Your system will boot back into Windows 10 and your sound should be working normally. 3 Posted by 2 years ago Renpy can't find audio So I'm new to coding and so far learning renpy has been pretty easy, I can make text, backgrounds, transitions, sprites, but then I tried to add music. On the right hand side of the page make sure you select Thorough. Open POST Behaviour and select Fastboot from the sub menu that appears.
