Parents can sign up with their child, one set of wings per registration. Participants will also learn an excerpt of original dance theater repertory to serve as a tool for developing personal meaning within the framework of choreography.Ĭreate and perform with your very own Fairy or Dragon wings in this workshop combining visual and performing arts! Participants will be guided through the steps of creating wearable wings, and then learn to put them in motion in our open Studio Theater Space. With a dynamic warmup, movement combinations and structured improvisations we will tune into the body, strengthen our technique, and play with new pathways for creative impulse. This workshop is perfect for dancers, actors, and performers- any and all movement enthusiasts interested in exploring the connection between motion and emotion. This exhilarating medium allows you to play with light and shadow in a hands-on, fully engaged way. Learn to navigate the complexities of drawing three dimensional, overlapping objects in charcoal. The result will be truly collaborative pieces each made by three different artists! Each participant will take one home at the end of the class. Everyone then creates a second level to the new mosaic in from of them, covers it again, then passes and continue for a third time. Each participant creates a “head” then covers it and passes to the person next to them. Students are asked to bring paint brushes of any size and "paint brushes" to experiment with - think scrub brush, dish brush, mop, broom, or toothbrush! Students are also welcome to bring any other size canvas or paint medium they would like to work with.Ĭreativity through collaboration!
